After a tough first half against the Riverside Rangers, the Hanks Knights came out on the losing end of a 48-25 game blowout.
On Friday, Sep. 3, the Hanks socialites went out to support the Knights at their second game of the season at Riverside High School.
Many fans attended the game this past Friday. The game seemed intense from the start. Play, however, really heated up after Riverside scored in the first quarter. The Knights seemed on the verge of making a comeback.
Unfortunately the Knights did not get to score until the second quarter. At halftime the score was 21-12.
Throughout the game, the Knight’s fans knew which players to watch for: The quarterback, junior Paul Pendergrass, and running back, junior Adonis Powell.
Pendergrass and Powell combined for most of the Knight’s offense as they both scored and had done their best to do Hanks High proud.
Even though the game was in a losing effort, the dedication to the game and tenacity the Knights continued to show the entire night was evident in their play.
The Knights will bounce back after this loss and Coach Jeff Cleveland will definitely not allow his team to get comfortable with being on the losing end of a football game.
