Paris Hilton’s latest drug bust is found to be no surprise. When it comes to being in the spotlight you have to remember what twit-pics you have put up in the last month.

While in Las Vegas, Paris Hilton was arrested for cocaine possession on Friday, after the SUV she was riding in with her boyfriend was pulled over by a cop who smelt a strong aroma of Marijuana coming from the vehicle. After search the SUV, police allegedly discovered 0.8 grams of cocaine in Hilton’s purse. On Monday Hilton was charged with felony of cocaine possession.

After serving a 23 day sentence from a DUI charge in 2006, Hilton may be returning to prison for a sentence of up to four years and is due in court October 27.

Hilton told officers that the contents in the Chanel purse were purchased with the intent of assisting well-being – for example, her asthma medication- but that neither the purse, nor the illegal powder belonged to her. She claimed to have borrowed the purse from her friend.

On July 15, at 1:48 p.m., Hilton had tweeted to inform her more than 2.5 million followers: “Love My New Chanel Purse I got Today.:)” She conveniently added a Twitpic of this “remarkable, lovable, valuable piece”.

Ironically, this beautiful purse seems to bear a resemblance to the purse that she had in her possession.

Early Wednesday (September 1), Hilton used twitter to deny all the rumors about her cocaine possession.

“These rumors going around are so ridiculous, untrue and cruel,” Hilton wrote. “I’m not going to even pay attention to them, because I know the truth.”

Hilton didn’t go into detail about which rumors she claims are false. According to reporters, her boyfriend, Cy Waits, who was driving when police stopped the two, and was charged with driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.

Hilton’s attorney, David Chesnoff, has insisted the amount allegedly found is “negligible, the purse it was found in wasn’t hers and Paris was illegally searched.”

A source close to Hilton told Radar Online that because the socialite was removed from the scene and searched at the nearby Wynn Las Vegas resort, the assertion that she was searched illegally may hold merit.

“Cops discovered the cocaine inside the security offices where Paris was taken,” the source said. “Because Paris was taken away from the scene where the car was pulled over, this could potentially be an illegal search of a person. … Las Vegas Metro didn’t follow standard procedures when Paris was arrested, and her lawyer will be talking to the D.A. about this.”
