Hanks was on the wrong side of a three-games-to-one loss against rival Eastwood.  The Troopers won the first two games with scores of 25-14, 25-17, lost the third 23-25, and won the last 25-11.

Even though this was a tough loss the Lady Knights are looking forward and preparing for their next match against the El Dorado Aztecs on Friday at El Dorado High School.

The lady Knights suffered a disappointing loss for the sixth time this season. In the second game, they worked at their mistakes made in their first game as it was a hard battle with many mental errors.

In the first game, many windows of opportunity were seemingly closed by the relentless defense of the Troopers.  Down 2-0 after dropping the second set, the knights backs were against the wall going into the third game.  Senior Paola Montes pushed her team to work hard and keep their chins up.

As the team captain, she led by example with many good spikes and blocks. Also putting forth the effort, senior Clare Rodarte had many digs, sets and saves which helped the defense in the back while the hitters were working their arms on offense at the net. They kept their spirits up and pulled through on the third leading them into the fourth.

Eastwood won’t be the only opponent to give the Knights a tough game.  Even though the wins aren’t piling up, the girls seem to be preparing for the challenge and are improving after every game.  Many mistakes were made but they will be dealt with the help and leadership of coach Louis Sackett.
