Scary movies have been enjoyed by teens throughout the years, as one of the activities that can be done at any time.

Some say horror movies are only for Halloween occasions but in all honesty, not all horror movies have to do with Halloween. In fact, there are many scary movies that have nothing to do with Halloween at all, such as “The Excorsist,” “Anocondas,” and “Black Christmas.” While other movies involve the Halloween theme such as “Trick or Treat” and the successful “Halloween” franchise.

“I believe anyone can watch scary movies anytime of the year because there is no designated season or holiday in which one genre can be watched,” said junior Allondra Urueta.  ”I love horror movies and will continue to watch them before and after Halloween.”

Horror movies vary from different scenarios and locations — whether it’s at a lake, a party, or in one’s own home. Regardless of the situation, or who the antagonist is, people enjoy watching these high-adraneline flicks.

Many people have very different perspectives on what makes a movie scary. Over the years, the scary theme has lost its spirit.

Looking back, scary movies used to be simple scares such as some strange person outside one’s house just staring and giving everyone goosebumps while imagining the horror of what is to happen.

Almost every recent horror film relies on scary scenes with gushing blood and a young hot-clueless cast that makes the most obvious mistakes to keep people entertained.

Remakes are always competing with each other. Although the originals are timeless, it’s always nice to see how one’s past favorite movie have been recreated.

For Example, “The House Of Wax” ,2005, a remake of the 1953 film, made a $46 million difference. The statistics here shows that today’s audiences would rather see the upgraded verision of the classics.

“I love remakes regardless if they are cheesy becuase they are more modern to our world today,” said junior Dalia Rodriguez.

A good scare is something people love to obtain. Scary movies will always be something to look forward to any time of the year.
