Human Existence

The world…Its beauty remains unmatched, unparalleled, and supreme. In everything there is something to admire. The good, naturally full of all that is pleasant, brings unlimited joy. It encompasses all that is sought after. The sheer comfort in stability and perpetual happiness is like no other.

To forget the bad, ugly and grotesque would be a mistake. In it there is struggle, pain, and misery. Toiling forever just to live, being constantly bombarded with discouragement, and feeling helpless are all inevitable. That which seems to be malevolent offers hidden wonders.

Wonderful is indulgence. For a time all seems well…To live in gluttony and bliss: the ultimate goal of all. This view is grossly skewed. Short-lived are fun, and enjoyment. Numbness befalls whosoever wishes to live happy. Routine becomes the hated reality of living. Do we live to die or are we dying to live?

The bad is the true maker of all that is good. In a duality one side more closely resembles the other. The happiest are those who work the hardest, can understand the meaning of struggle, and know what happiness really entails.

Humans are masochistic at their core. What is so universally loved is agony. Part of being a human is learning to cope with all the obstacles that present themselves and at the end laugh at the face of anything that dared try a human’s tenacity and resilience. In the end humans are an odd species that have no purpose but to survive.
