Jersey seems like the place to be. With a lot of televised shows taking place in New Jersey such as The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Jersey Shore, The Next Great Baker, Cake Boss, Jerseylicious, and Jersey Couture. However, one show just named who The Next Great Baker is.
On January 30th, 2012 the season finale of the next great baker aired.
The last three bakers left in the competition (Ryan Cimorelli, Marissa Lopez, and Nadine Reibeling) had one last challenge to complete before the season ended. The challenge required all three bakers to bake a lot of deserts, which they were to sell at Carlo’s Bakery, the future workplace for one of these contestants. When the challenge finished Nadine Reibeling won the challenge but it was Ryan Cimorelli who didn’t sell enough to beat Marissa Lopez and was sent home.
After that the real challenge began for the last two competitors Marissa Lopez and Nadine Reibeling and for them it was “go time”.
Each Baker had to build a four-foot cake that represented their american dream.
Marissa’s Cake represented her being from jersey and described who she was, which described her as not being good at school and her family as being her rock.
Nadine went a little more creative and made three levels of clouds describing how she is from Minnesota but moved to pursue her dreams on being a baker.
The one thing in common about both cakes was that each had themselves at the top of the cake representing themselves as the next great baker. However, in the end there could only be one winner who would win $100,000 and win the opportunity to work with Buddy at Carlos Bakery.
And the next great baker is Marissa Lopez.
