In this life everyone has been sick at least once. Common illness here and there but some conditions and illnesses are made by oneself.
TLC’s new reality TV show goes on the lives of several people who have just stopped caring about everything, letting themselves get to a dangerous place. One woman that has let herself go down a wrong path has realized what she has done to herself and is going to lead to major consequences that probably can’t be fixed.
Going so far as to letting oneself get to six hundred pounds seems impossible. However, Melissa Morris didn’t notice that this was happening. Happily married with hardly any stress, she didn’t seem to care or look deep into the number showing on the scale. From two pounds to four hundred she was happy that it wasn’t higher.
“As long as I could walk I knew I was fine,” Morris said.
Now when her loving husband realized that she was placing herself in an early grave, he had to make the hard decision to tell her things must change, and she agreed.
Being at such an unhealthy state, people looked at her oddly. Regardless of what was going on deep inside, such as high blood pressure, slower heart beat and anything else, all people could see was a very unwell lady walking at the grocery store. Hurtful things were thought for wandering eyes say much more then intended, but then someone’s voice spoke with hurtful, negative yet true things.
Morris was sad that someone actually said something disrespectful and hurtful to her but what hurt the most was that she couldn’t deny it. Now she went to go see a doctor to get an operation down to trim off her excessive weight to make her look better and make her life better. The doctors words were that she might not wake up from the operating table and Morris said that she would die either at the operating table or at her own home.
Taking the chance, thankfully Morris made it out of the operation table alive, but this would have never been a path to take if she stayed healthy. Eating healthy or just exercising would keep one’s system in check.
Living a healthy lifestyle is hard to do with all of today’s technology and the tempting fast food restaurants at every other corner. Technology is making one lazy and fast food is making one overweight, but regardless it does not make severe illnesses and conditions like Morris’.
One needs to take full responsibility to their life. Blaming other factors that led to one’s unhealthy life if not going to make one any better.
Staying healthy is hard but not impossible; Morris learned the hard way but she knows just like anyone else that is living an unhealthy life and possibly going that path Morris went through is one’s own priority to keep themselves healthy regardless of the temptations around them.
