Bats wake up in fifth inning against Desert View in Tucson tournament

The varsity baseball team didn't play the Stallions in a tournament in Tucson on Friday, March 3, 2017. They did, however, defeat Desert View 10-7 behind key contributions from senior Carlos Narvaez and sophomore Brian Contreras.

The team (6-4 overall, 0-1 in 2-5A) played the Catalina Trojans on Saturday afternoon before heading back home to continue district play on Friday, March 10 at Canutillo.

After being down 7-2 to begin the fifth, the Knights put eight runs on the scoreboard to key the late rally. Aside from Narvaez (1-for-3, 2 RBI) and Contreras (2-for-4, 2 RBI), seniors Ruben Alcala (1-for-3, 1 RBI) Aaron Scott (0-for-1, 0 RBI) and Alec Rodriguez (1-for-3, 1 RBI) had a great contribution to the Knights dominating victory in their fifth inning. Junior Anthony Rios ( 2-for-3, 1 RBI) also had two outstanding hits for the varsity boys.

"I think were going to do so much the team this year." said Senior Noah Dominguez. "Its going to be a great season and were going to get things going and bring back some trophies. Were on a mission and have all our minds set on winning."

With the tournament coming to an end, the Knights had a total of 2 wins as well as having 2 losses in Tucson. Overall they had a great tournament and represented well. The Knights have much to look forward to for the rest of their season and all they will bring to the field.
